Cỗ bàn… Chúa đã dọn xongThánh Augustino có nói: “Thiên Chúa dựng nên con người không cần con người, nhưng để cứu chuộc con người, thì Người cần đến sự cộng tác của con người”.

Tại sao Thiên Chúa lại cần sự cộng tác của con người? Thưa, sở dĩ cần đến sự cộng tác của con người là bởi Thiên Chúa dựng nên con người có tự do, và sự tự do đó được thể hiện qua sự chọn lựa, chọn lựa đón nhận ơn cứu chuộc hay không đón nhận ơn cứu chuộc.

Ơn Cứu Chuộc được ban một cách nhưng không. Nước Trời luôn mở rộng cho những ai tìm đến. Và, công việc của Thiên Chúa, đó là đưa ra những lời mời gọi.

Vâng, thông điệp này đã được Đức Giê-su diễn giải qua một dụ ngôn mang tên “Dụ ngôn tiệc cưới”.

Dụ ngôn được kể, rằng: “Một vua kia mở tiệc cưới cho con mình”. Ông ta mời nhiều nhân vật quan trọng. Ông ta “sai đầy tớ đi thỉnh các quan khách đã được mời trước, xin họ đến dự tiệc…” Thế nhưng, thật đáng ngạc nhiên “họ không chịu đến”.

“Cỗ bàn… đã dọn xong, bò tơ và thú béo đã hạ rồi, mọi sự đã sẵn…” Ấy thế mà! Thế mà… “quan khách không thèm đếm xỉa đến”. Họ bỏ đi…”kẻ thì đi thăm trại, người thì đi buôn…” Có kẻ còn ác nhân ác đức, họ “bắt các đầy tớ của vua mà sỉ nhục và giết chết”.

Thưa quý vị, không thấy thánh Mát-thêu, người viết lại dụ ngôn này nói, nhưng chúng ta có thể biết rằng: nhà vua đã phải chi rất nhiều tiền cho bữa tiệc cưới này. Và, đó là lý do “nhà vua nổi cơn thịnh nộ, sai quân đi tru diệt bọn sát nhân ấy và thiêu hủy thành phố của chúng”.

Câu chuyện tới đây, chắc hẳn chúng ta sẽ thầm nói: Ôi! Một đám cưới, nhiều đám ma! Chuyện kể như thế, đương nhiên là phải có nhiều đám ma… Nhưng thôi, hãy bỏ qua tiểu tiết này, và hãy trở lại bữa tiệc cưới, trở lại xem nhà vua tiếp tục làm điều gì.

Nhà vua tiếp tục làm gì nhỉ! Thưa, nhà vua bảo đầy tớ rằng: “các ngươi đi ra các ngã đường, gặp ai cũng mời hết vào tiệc cưới”. Và, các người đầy tớ đã đi. Họ “đi ra các nẻo đường, gặp ai, bất luận xấu tốt, cũng tập hợp cả lại…” Cuối cùng… “Phòng tiệc cưới đầy thực khách”.

Đức Giê-su mở đầu dụ ngôn bằng cách đề cập đến “Nước Trời”. Thế nên, điều hợp lý chẳng phải là nhân vật “vua” ở đây chính là nói đến Gia-vê Thiên Chúa, sao! Còn con trai vua và những người được mời đến dự tiệc là ai, chẳng phải là chính Đức Giê-su và là những người sẽ được hưởng phúc Thiên Đàng, sao!

Ai là những người đầu tiên “được mời trước” chẳng phải là những người Do Thái, sao! Phần lớn người Do Thái phản ứng thế nào trước lời mời gọi ấy? Thưa, đúng như Đức Giê-su nói: “họ không chịu đến”.

Hầu hết những nhà lãnh đạo tôn giáo và dân chúng không chấp nhận Đức Giê-su là Đấng Mê-si-a. Chẳng những họ không chấp nhận Đức Giê-su là Đấng Mê-si-a, mà họ còn ngược đãi “những đầy tớ của vua”. Vụ án Tê-pha-nô là điển hình. (x.Cv 4, 13-18; 7, 54, 58).

Chúng ta sẽ không còn “thắc mắc” vì sao “nhà vua nổi cơn thịnh nộ, sai quân đi tru diệt bọn sát nhân ấy và thiêu hủy thành phố của chúng”. Vâng, điều này đã xảy đến cho người Do Thái vào năm 70 CN khi quân La Mã hủy diệt “thành phố của chúng” là Giê-ru-sa-lem.

Đừng quên, một lần nọ, Đức Giê-su đã nói, rằng: “Thiên Chúa yêu thế gian đến nỗi đã ban Con Một, để ai tin vào Con của Người thì khỏi phải chết, nhưng được sống muôn đời”.

Và, rằng: “Thiên Chúa sai Con của Người đến thế gian không phải là để lên án thế gian, nhưng là để thế gian , nhờ Con của Người, mà được cứu độ”. Đây là một lời mời gọi. Toàn thể dân Do Thái đã từ chối lời mời gọi này. Thế nhưng, một sĩ quan La Mã tên là Co-nê-li-ô, cùng gia đình ông, nhận được thần khí của Thiên Chúa. Gia đình ông đã đáp lời mời gọi và trở thành những người “được tập hợp lại” để bước vào Bàn Tiệc Cưới Nước Trời. (x.Cv 10, 1… 34-48). Vâng, đúng như lời Đức Giê-su nói: “Kẻ được gọi thì nhiều, mà người được chọn thì ít”.

Và bây giờ là đến chúng ta. Mỗi chúng ta là ai trong dụ ngôn này? Là những thực khách được Đức Giê-su mời chăng?  Vâng, hôm nay, trong mỗi thánh đường, bàn tiệc Thánh Kinh và bàn tiệc Thánh Thể vẫn luôn được dọn ra, vẫn luôn sẵn sàng để tiếp đón chúng ta. Tiếc thay! Hôm nay, nơi những bàn tiệc đó… vẫn còn rất nhiều ghế trống! Vẫn vắng mặt chúng ta? Tại sao?

Phải chăng, chúng ta chán ngán bàn tiệc đó (bàn tiệc Lời Chúa), vì những bàn tiệc đó đã được người đầu bếp “chế biến” một cách hời hợt và bày ra một cách chiếu lệ!

Phải chăng, chúng ta không dám tham dự bàn tiệc đó (bàn tiệc Thánh Thể), vì chúng ta “không có y phục lễ cưới”?

Câu trả lời là của mỗi chúng ta. Nhưng, hãy nhớ rằng: quyền xét đoán là của Thiên Chúa. Hãy để Thiên Chúa xét đoán những người đầu bếp đó.

Còn về chuyện không-có-y-phục-lễ-cưới chăng! Vâng, thật đáng ngại cho sự việc này.  Đức Giê-su, qua dụ ngôn, Ngài đã nói cái kết cho kẻ không-có-y-phục-lễ-cưới, đó là, họ sẽ bị: “trói chân tay lại… quăng ra chỗ tối tăm bên ngoài, ở đó sẽ phải khóc lóc nghiến răng”.

Thế thì, chúng ta phải làm gì khi không có y phục lễ cưới? Thưa, hãy đến tòa giải tội. Vâng, phải đến tòa giải tội, vì không có y phục lễ cưới, có nghĩa là chiếc áo tâm hồn chúng ta đã bị hoen ố vì những vết nhơ tội lụy, thưa quý vị.

Nơi đó, nơi tòa giải tội,  chúng ta sẽ được Thiên Chúa ban tặng cho một chiếc y phục lễ cưới trắng tinh, không tì vết.

Có một thực tế mà chúng ta phải nhìn nhận, đó là số lượng người Công Giáo tham dự bàn tiệc Lời Chúa (đọc Kinh Thánh) quá ít, rất ít, thưa quý vị.

Thế nên, thật phải đạo khi chúng ta hãy cùng “tập hợp cả lại”, tập hợp lại thành từng nhóm hai, ba người cùng nhau đọc Kinh Thánh. Vâng, chỉ cần hai, ba người cũng có thể được coi như bàn tiệc Lời Chúa “đã đầy thực khách”.

Hôm nay, Đức Giê-su, qua các linh mục, Ngài vẫn lớn tiếng mời chúng ta, rằng: “Đây Chiên Thiên Chúa, đây Đấng xóa tội trần gian. Phúc cho ai đến dự Tiệc Chiên Thiên Chúa”. Ngài vẫn nhắn nhủ chúng ta, rằng: “Lời Chúa là ngọn đèn soi cho con bước. Là ánh sáng chỉ đường con đi”.  Vâng, “Cỗ bàn… Chúa đã dọn xong”.
